This is certainly our William Browning Senior father of William who married Catherine Anglin.) William Anglin, our earliest known Anglin wrote his will on 20 Mar 1798, in Caswell County, North Carolina. The will was proved April 1803 in Caswell County, North Carolina. The marriage record of William BROWNING and Catherine ANGLIN in Caswell County, North Carolina was 24 Aug 1797. The marriage was witnessed by Alden Murphy and the Bondsman was Humphrey Roberts. With this record we see that William and Catherine were married before William ANGLIN Senior died. Because Catherine's name is mentioned in the will as Catherine BROWNING we have a positive identification of these ancestors. William ANGLIN is found in the 1790 North Carolina Census of Saint David's District Caswell County, North Carolina. No children were listed. Also in Saint David's District we find two Brownings listed, their names are James Browning and John Browning. They are probably related to our William Browning. There were no other Anglins listed in the 1790 North Carolina Census. In the 1784 Caswell County, North Carolina 2nd Edition William Anglin is listed as follows: William Anglin 1 White Male 21-60 2 White Males under 21 3 White Females all ages. An indenture in Caswell County, North Carolina dated 29 Nov 1797 shows William Anglins Senior selling land to Benjamin Kidd on Rolens Fork. Just north of Caswell County, North Carolina in Virginia we find records of other Anglins who certainly must be related. Caswell County North Carolina Will Book E (1803-1808) page 6 & 7.
