Will written 14 May 1782 and proved 12 Nov 1782. "Know all men by these presents that I Abraham HOWARD of the state of SOUTH CAROLINA for divers causes and good reasons have constituted ordained and appointed James Rainwater of the state of North Carolina and of Surry County who is my trusty friedn to convey the title of my land on the double Creek of the Yadkin River whenever the the state deed can be obtained from William Silvey. In witness whereunto I set my hand seal this twentieth of December 1787. Test Abraham HOWARD (Seal) Edmund Pace by James Rainwater North Carolina Surry County May Term 1790 the within Power of Attorney signed Abraham Howard by James Rainwater was duly acknowledge by James Rainwater for and in behalf of said Howard and also Edmond Pace proved that he heard said Howard and alos Edmond Pace proved the heard said Howard direct Rainwater to execute that same in his name and for him and for him which power is ordered to be recognized at large.
