He married Sarah in Prince William, Va, about 1755. Will Book Fauquier County, Virginia written 11 Jun 1782 and proved 26 May 1783 Will states, "to Carter's run . . . to the corner adjoining the lands of Anderson Cockrell. Witnesses to this will are Anderson Cockrell, Jesse Moffett, William Hollin, Daniel Moffett and John Monroe. French and Indian War Fauquier County, Virginia Soldier 25 Sep 1761 - Jeffrey Johnson. Will of Jeffrey JOHNSON Will Book 1 page 469-470. In the name of God amen. I Jeffrey Johnson of Fauquier County and State of Virginia being sick and weak in body, but having my perfect . . . . . memory do make my last will and testament as hereafter followeth: First, I willing bequeath my soul in the hands of God my Heavenly Father ?? my body to the ground to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter named in certain hope of a joyful ressurection. And as for what worldly estate it hat pleased almighty God to bestow upon me I dispose of it as followeth: Item, I leave and bequeath to my well beloved son Alexander John a certain parcel of land whereon he now lives beginning a rock called the chimney shore thence running stone branchy to Carter's run .......... and the said run to the Manor of Leeds and then along said manor line to the cornoer adjoining the LANDS OF ANDERSON COCKRELL along his line to the first beginning at the said chimney stone to his family and heirs forever. Item I lend to my ........ ..........wife Sarah Johnson all the rest of my estate both land and ....... during her natural life if she remains a widow, but if she should remarry that it is my will that she should one fifth part ..... no more. Item after the decease of my beloved wife of her marriage I leave and bequeath the remainder of my land whereon I now live to be divided aforesaid to my son Bailey JOHNSON, on Carter's run. ...... joining Alexander Johnson and John Mofffit to his and his family forever. To James Johnson the balance of any land or plantation to him and his heirs forever. Item, I leaving bequeath to my son Presley JOHNSON a certain tract of Land on the Rappahanock mountains now loaned to William Smith two hundred sixty acres to him or his heirs forever. It is my will if either of my two sons Presly or James die before that come of agethen the survivingbrother to possess the whole left or if both die before that inherit the land then the land is to be sold & the money arising from the sale equally divided among all my children. Item, I leave and bequeath all the rest of my estate not already disposed of th wit all my stock of all ......... house hold kitchen furniture after my wife's decease to be equally divided among my four daughters namely, MARY COCKRELL, ELIZABETH MORRIS, & Sary & Lydia JOHNSON. ..... Teste J Brookett. SHORT PROFILE OF TWO MEN NAMED JEFFRY JOHNSON JOHNSON, Jeffry (3262) died about 1758 in Prince William County, Virginia. His wife Margaret one year later married Thomas Colson. Jeffry (3262) had children: Jeffry Johnson who married Rachel and moved to Surry County, North Carolina. Moses Johnson who married Duannah - Diannah (parents of Charlotte who married John Burgess) stayed in Fauquier County Virginia and left a will there in 1803 Other children of Jeffry (3262) and Margaret were Margaret Johnson and William Johnson. JOHNSON, Jeffry (475) will dated 11 Jun 1782 called THE PLANTER (son of John) and married Sarah lived next to Anderson Cockrell. Daughter Mary married Anderson COCKRELL. Obviously this Jeffry died twenty four years later than the 1758 Prince William County, Virginia Jeffry. This Jeffry's children were Alexander Johnson, Bailey Johnson, James Johnson, Presly Johnson, MARY COCKRELL(wife of Anderson COCKRELL) Elizabeth Morris, Sary Johnson, and Lydia Johnson. L50 .... 100 acres part of 232 acres granted 20 July 1712 to Jeffrey JOHNSON grandfather to the above mentioned ... given to John JOHNSON son to Jeffrey JOHNSON by his will dated 25 Jun 1725 John Johnson by deed of gift to his son the said Jeffrey JOHNSON on the upper or North Little Marsh . . .
