Will Book Fauquier County, Virginia written 11 Jun 1782 and proved 26 May 1783 Will states, "to Carter's run . . . to the corner adjoining the lands of Anderson Cockrell. I Jeffrey Johnson of Fauquier County and State of Virginia being sick and weak in body, but having my perfect . . . . . memory do make my last will and testament as hereafter followeth: First, I willing bequeath my soul in the hands of God my Heavenly Father ?? my body to the ground to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter named in certain hope of a joyful ressurection. To James Johnson the balance of any land or plantation to him and his heirs forever. Item, I leaving bequeath to my son Presley JOHNSON a certain tract of Land on the Rappahanock mountains now loaned to William Smith two hundred sixty acres to him or his heirs forever. It is my will if either of my two sons Presly or James die before that come of agethen the survivingbrother to possess the whole left or if both die before that inherit the land then the land is to be sold & the money arising from the sale equally divided among all my children. Teste J Brookett. SHORT PROFILE OF TWO MEN NAMED JEFFRY JOHNSON JOHNSON, Jeffry (3262) died about 1758 in Prince William County, Virginia. His wife Margaret one year later married Thomas Colson. Jeffry (3262) had children: Jeffry Johnson who married Rachel and moved to Surry County, North Carolina. Moses Johnson who married Duannah - Diannah (parents of Charlotte who married John Burgess) stayed in Fauquier County Virginia and left a will there in 1803 Other children of Jeffry (3262) and Margaret were Margaret Johnson and William Johnson. JOHNSON, Jeffry (475) will dated 11 Jun 1782 called THE PLANTER (son of John) and married Sarah lived next to Anderson Cockrell. Daughter Mary married Anderson COCKRELL. Obviously this Jeffry died twenty four years later than the 1758 Prince William County, Virginia Jeffry. This Jeffry's children were Alexander Johnson, Bailey Johnson, James Johnson, Presly Johnson, MARY COCKRELL(wife of Anderson COCKRELL) Elizabeth Morris, Sary Johnson, and Lydia Johnson.
