22. Carr5 Bailey (John4, John Senior3, Stephen2, Stephen1) was born in Westmoreland, Va about 1726. Carr died October 6, 1770 in Fauquier, Virginia.

He married Mary Minter in Prince William, Va, about 1753. Mary was born in Fauquier, Va about 1733. She was the daughter of Joseph Minter and Mary. Wills Fauquier County, Virginia Will Book page 181. In the name of God Amen I Carr Bailey of the County of Fauquier beingg sick and weak but in perfect sense and memory do make this my last will and testatment in manner following improvis I commend my soul to almighty God, hoping through the merits of my blessed Savior a hpaay ressurection and as to what worldly estate I am possessed and devise to my loving wife Mary Bailey my whole estate and personal during her widowhood and after her marriage or decease it is my desire that my land may be sold and the money arising therefrom be equally divided among all my children or such of them as shall then be living. I tem I give and devise to my son James (after the marriage or decease of his mother) one negro boy named Solomon to heim and his heirs forever. Item I give to my sone Joseph (after the marriage or decease of his mother) one negro boy named Daniel to him and his heirs forever. I tem I give and devise to my daughter Betty (after the marriage or decease of her mother) one negro girl named Lucy and her increase to her and his heirs for ever. Item I give to my son Carr(after the marriage or decease of his mother) one negro boy named Tom to him and his heirs forever. Item I give to my son Minter (after the marriage or decease of his mother) one negro boy named Bacchus to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and devise to my son William (after the marriage or decease of his mother) one negro woman named Sarah and her increase to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and devise to my son John (after the marriage and decease of his mother) one negro girl named Tursley to him and his heirs forever. It is my will and devise that my children shall be maintained out of the forfits of my whole estate that shall be then equally divided among all my children or such of them as shall be then living and as the Solomon before devised to my son James is sickly my will and desire is that in the case the said negro shoud die before the division of my estate in that case I give and devise to my said son James one negro man named Bobbo him and his heirs forever. And lastly therby appoint my wife Mary Executrix to this my last will and my friends George Rogers and Joseph Minton Junior executors to this my last will testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made in witness here of I have here unto set my hand and seal this sixth day of October 1770. Bailey - Britton page 114. Carr (4) Bailey carried his mother's maiden name and is perhaps the first of this name. He was a son John (3) Junior and Elizabeth (Carr) Bailey, born in the late teens or early 1720's He no doubt moved in that stream of migration to Prince William County, in the 1730's or 1740's He married in Prince Prince William, later Fauquier County, Virginia, some say about 1755, Mary, daughter of Joseph Minter Senior. He owned considerabl;e land in Fauquier County. From his will dated Oct 6, 1770 proved May 28, 1771 Book 1 page 181. (His will is typed above.) child 24 i. James6 Bailey was born in , Va about 1755. James died about 1830 in Va. He married Elizabeth White in Fauquier, Va, February 28, 1786.

child + 27 iv. Minter Bailey was born June 19, 1763.

child 28 v. John Bailey was born about 1768. He married Frances Jones in Fauquier, Va, November 9, 1791.

child 29 vi. Betty Bailey was born in , Va May 10, 1770. Betty died August 11, 1838 at 68 years of age. She married John Tomlin in Of Fauquier, Virginia, about 1795. John was born in Of Fauquier, Virginia about 1767.

child 30 vii. William Bailey was born in , Va November 28, 1786. William died May 28, 1846 at 59 years of age. He married Elizabeth Minter in Fauquier, Va, March 21, 1789.
