1. Joseph¹ Dempsey was born in Of Logan, Virginia about 1799.

He married Alena Vance in Logan, Virginia, about 1826. Alena was born in Va 1791. She was the daughter of Abner Vance and Susanna Howard.

Joseph Dempsey and Alena Vance had the following children:

2 i. Sena Ann² Dempsey was born in Logan, Virginia 1824.

3 ii. Wm A Dempsey was born in Logan, Va 1827.

4 iii. Saphroney J. Dempsey was born in Logan, Va 1832.
