23. William⁴ Hewins (Ebenezer³, Joseph², Jacob¹) was born in Stoughton, Norfolk Co, Ma December 16, 1735. William died March 4, 1802 at 66 years of age.

He married Ruth Cummings in Stoughton, Norfolk Co, Ma, November 27, 1759. Ruth was born in Stoughton, Norfolk Co, Ma August 9, 1739. She was the daughter of Samuel Cummings and Susannah Hood. Ruth died 1832 in Ma Or Me.

William Hewins Corp. and Ruth Cummings had the following children:

39 i. William⁵ Hewins. William died June 4, 1801. He married Matilda Ingraham in Int., April 27, 1789. IGI C500481, Serial #1204.

40 ii. Ruth Hewins was born in , Ma March 2, 1760. Ruth died January 28, 1821 in Me, at 60 years of age. She married John Hewins January 8, 1783. John was born in Stoughton, Norfolk Co, Ma November 22, 1759. He was the son of Jacob Hewins and Damaris Bird. John died in Prob., Ma. (See John Hewins for the continuation of this line.) 41 iii. Ebenezer Hewins was born in Sharon, Norfolk Co, Ma April 13, 1764. Ebenezer died May 4, 1824 at 60 years of age. He married Zilpha Cummings in Int., April 19, 1787. Zilpha was born in Hallowell, Kennebec Co, Me 1769. Zilpha died April 26, 1848. IGI Batch #C500481, Serial #1067.

+ 42 iv. Amasa Hewins was born May 10, 1766.

43 v. Rebecca Hewins was born in Sharon, Norfolk Co, Ma June 28, 1768. Rebecca died May 31, 1790 at 21 years of age. IGI Batch #C500481, Serial #1181. D unm.
