He married Hannah Garrett in Prob Prov, Prov Co, Ri, January 4, 1678/1679. Hannah was born before 1665. Hannah died after 1689.

John Ballou and Hannah Garrett had the following children:

6 ii. Sarah Ballou was born before 1683.

7 iii. John Ballou was born August 26, 1683.

8 iv. Maturin Ballou was born about 1685.

9 v. Abigail Ballou was born about 1687.

10 vi. Peter Ballou was born August 1, 1689.
